Ohio-born,long-time resident of Paris, George Vance is presently involved in experiments with word/image fusion, tags, & street art. His hybrid language & image video installation, “HEIGHTS”, was exhibited in Brussels in 2006, & he recently designed a ‘totem’ sculpture with a Kanak artist. Author of Bent Time, a chapbook, his poems have appeared in Paris in Pharos & Upstairs at Duroc.

He has read at numerous Paris venues including The American Library, Wice, Paris Writer’s workshop, Live Poets, The Red Wheelbarrow, & as part of the multi-voiced performance group “Quadriphonics” (with Jennifer K Dick, Michelle Noteboom & Barbara Beck). Vance has lived in Liberia, Austria, Germany, France & the French Overseas ‘Country’ of New Caledonia/Kanaky. His poems can also be found on the collaborative poetry blog rewords, of which he is a member, as well as on-line at the web magazine ‘RETORT’, the Paris poets anthology Ekleksographia, and at Nth position.

Troy Yorke’s poetry celebrates everything abhorrent and taboo with irreverence and humor, much in contrast to his work as a professional Life/Business Coach. His work brings marginalized voices centre-stage in a variety of experimental forms, language-play and character monologue, seeking beauty in the absurd. He has had some poems published in small magazines including Toronto’s Fab Magazine and he is currently compiling a volume of selected poems for publication.

A professional performer for over 25 years, Troy Yorke’s Film/TV credits as an actor include Scary Movie 3, Queer as Folk, Delicate Art of Parking and Final Destination. As a solo classical pianist, he has concertized in Canada, the US and Europe and his compositions have been premiered in the US and Canada, including the United Nations in New York. Troy was also creator/executive producer/director and ensemble performer in the hit comedy showcase revue “Cabaret Vulgare!” at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto. It was praised as a “vaudevillian free-for-all reminiscent of the Kids In The Hall” and deemed one of NOW Magazine’s Best Bets for Comedy in 2005. He was a scholarship graduate from Second City Toronto’s Professional Development program for sketch comedy writing and improv. Living in Paris, Troy divides his time as writer, performer, business coach and workshop facilitator for the Coaches Training Institute.
