Well, this is strange.
Many years ago, as in more than 40 of them, when I was a failing postgraduate student, I set up and published a Diplomacy zine, Hacking Times (HT(undefined)>). I’d pretty much forgotten about it, and I’ve certainly lost my own copies (well, they might be in the dusty attic).
Last week, I received an email from Alex Richardson, editor and publisher of Obsidian (which, most impressively, is still going strong), telling me that HT(undefined)> has recently been archived on UK Diplomacy Zines. Given I’ve not contacted Alex since the 1980s, I am impressed that he made the effort to find me online, for which I thank him.
I have no clue who was mad enough to hang on to copies of HT(undefined)> over the years, let alone upload them to the archive, but I really must thank them, and advise them to urgently seek professional help (ho ho).
Although I was publisher, editor, adjudicator, and wrote my unfair share of content, much of the zine’s non–Diplomacy punch was written by my fellow Young Liberal and Greenwich resident of the day, Mark Holliday.
I’ve swiped a copy of the PDFs from UK Diplomacy Zines, for the arts & ego archive.
