Every Second, To Everyone

Give me shortbread,
and a green photo book.

Give me walks to town,
and a sunlit turtleshell hedge.

Give me bridge, a footpath,
and a railway of straight silver lines.

Give me snow, streetlighting,
and a stranger in cigarette smoke.

Give me a tree, an angle,
and a fog soft statue.

Give me a studded bridge,
and diagonals cast by the sun.

Give me tumbledown docklands,
and a crane abandoned for kids.

Give me clouds, a holiday,
and sun bluelighting their games.
