Quake 4 Well, for the first time ever I find myself wanting to turn on God mode in an Id Software game. There is a phase early in Quake 4 where you sit on a turret and shoot at things that shoot at you. The turret is sitting on a truck, and you get no control over where the truck is going. You can't sneak, you can't hide, you can't dodge, you can't use any kind of intelligence or trickery, you just have to shoot at the enemy while they shoot at you. Frankly, this kind of no tactic shoot-out is boring. I'm deeply disappointed. This game a real let-down given Quake 2. Expect more here once I've overcome my reluctance to turn on God mode to bypass the boring bits. |
