Sorry—I dislike the way the articles jump randomly around the magazine. I know it’s the standard thing in the States, but the average editor over here in the UK tends to be a little more organised.
I do not like having to suspend my enjoyment of well–written prose for ten minutes while I scramble through adverts seeking the occasional page with a number on it, guessing the possible place where the next paragraph of the article may be concealed, eventually to track down the text long after I’ve forgotten what the hell the author was on about, let alone being able to preserve and maintain the atmosphere any half–decent wordsmith will have made an effort to create. Long sentences are a breeze in comparison.
I won’t be renewing.
