Sitting in a café at Gare de l’Est in Paris, supping a coffee, I heard an older English couple having an issue with their order. A biscuit was missing. When they spoke to the staff in English, I should have guessed the actual problem.
I explained the problem in French and the staff quickly sorted it. The couple thanked me.
The woman then told me that the staff were lazy. I asked her if she spoke French. She didn’t like that. She ignored me when I wished them bon voyage.
