John J Ronan has some interesting use of language: from The School of Not Moving:

Only their flight to the future, ancient
Rome restores the ka of calm,
     As slow, time–killing tourists,
     Stiff as stelae, breathe easy.

and some clichés: from On the Oubangui “The shortwave radio crackled static”. Perhaps there’s a sarcasm in here that I’m not picking up.

I find clichés rather like a barred door, they make it difficult for me to keep going. All the same, if you can ignore these occasional blockages, there’s some interesting work here. The guy needs an independent editor, as we all do. Don’t let that stop you having a look.
