for reasons i don’t understand
when i visit this centraal station
i think not of an elegant old lady
with a facelift and a hobble

but of an Irish gentleman
in perfectly cut don’t–look–at–me clothes
plain like the grandest steppe
porting a complexity scarf

why i know he grew rich on the horses
i have no clue
but he’s active at the busiest point in his life
yet perfectly relaxed and open
