This No Man’s Sky is intended to be my last one, in the main game as it is now. The game offers irregular expeditions and updates, which I suspect I will continue to explore, perhaps, but I don’t intend to develop my basic presence any further.
This is a hotel cum rest home on a rare paradise planet in the last mainstream galaxy, Iousongola. It’s not in the centre, I didn’t find a paradise planet there. The idea is that once travellers have explored, or at least travelled to, all the known universe (ignoring the secret galaxies Odyalutai and Yilsrussimil), then they can come here and have a break. It’s my way of telling myself to leave the game!
The rooms are basic. This is quite intentional. People who’ve travelled the universe, who’ve earnt enough to become multi–gadzillionnaires, will be quite used to insane luxury, and, I think, quite sick of it. This place isn’t abbey–esque in terms of absence of nicities, but it’s quite deliberately basic. Travellers come here to socialise and rest, not to indulge—they can do that whenever they want anyway.
As I write, I’m still making small changes, so if you visit you won’t see quite what’s seen in these photos.
April 2024 addendum: there have been some enhancements in the last year.
This base was built because, at the time, I couldn’t find a paradise planet at the centre of the galaxy. I have now done so, where I’ve built Horrid. As a result, this base will probably be deleted soon.
