i am going to play
this welcome blip of mania
but it lasts as long
as a swollen day

so it will fall
like the taste
of excellent beer

but that doesn’t matter
a moment of memory
made intense by words like these
and the tongue sharpens up
with the mutating bitter to flower

and maybe the mania
will visit
for that most important moment
the moment it’s called
out
to play
just a moment

a moment necessary
for jumping a sheep dog
an internal sheep dog
of course
