looking at my poetry
there’s idiotic lines in there
trainspotting for caterpillars

but that’s what wanted to be said
so that’s what’s said

and i’ve learnt
coming ack in ten years
when this sadness won’t even be a memory
that the idiotic lines then
are the ones that actually say

poetry’s a whole mind thing

trainspotting for caterpillars
this caterpillar
may one day catch up
