a small strong flash of bright
another a quarter of the sky to the left
and another to the right
but this time a silver speck

our evening star is low behind me
the light of after–school picnics
of scampering in the park
and after–college breath
heard close

a flash of bright strong technology
a flash of bright strong history
a flash of time
