I spent a couple of days taking photographs in the Netherlands. I am rather fond of reflections. The Netherlands is rather full of canals.
Unfortunately, or so I thought, my time there coincided with a break in the nasty hot and sunny weather. The evening came with beautifully cooling rain.
The trouble is rain disturbs the water’s surface, preventing me taking the kind of photos I’d intended, pareidolia. I walked the canals a while, hoping the rain would break, but it didn’t. I took a few photos anyway, more on principle more than anything, then gave up, found a bar, and wrote some poems.
Would you believe it! Some of those few photos I took are absolutely beautiful, and, ironically, have quite a winter atmosphere. I wish I’d taken more.
