of course
i’m as settled
as a dog ringing barks
at a herd of postmen

but when i’m unwanted
to press desire
’s more than rude
it’s disrespect

i’m silent
my office colleagues
don’t stare at me
from a coral of tables
awaiting a warden

of course
if the unwant’s a lie
it’s self–protection

it’s never so simple
