on excession

I thought that Excession was a disappointment after my first reading, but found myself wanting to go back to it after a few months. I re–read it, and found I got a great deal more out of it. Indeed, I’ve now read it four times, and got something new out of it each time. I now think that it’s his best book by a long way, and have every intention of re–reading it again because I know there’s still more in there I haven’t found yet.
