introduction

These documents are copies of specifications referenced by ssc nits.

ssc often refers to a particular part of the original specification when it reports an issue, so whoever reviews the report to check the analysed code against the corresponding language specification.

Many of the specifications frequently change, more often than I can update ssc itself. Thus, were ssc to refer to a particular part of the current version of the specification, for example, by chapter number, and that number had changed, it’d would point to the wrong place. Hence, instead, it points to the copies here.

In other words, these copies are almost certainly outdated. I would strongly recommend that, if you want to check a specification for anything more understanding a reference from a nit, check the current version at source.
